About Me

In lieu of a lengthy autobiography, here's a few notes with fun pics instead!

Hi! It's me!
My husband, Russell, and I were married in 2015 on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
Russell and Lucy (see below) are my favorites.

Just look at this happy pair!
I was raised in Northwest Arkansas and have lived in Oklahoma for 10 years, but my husband and I would love to move near a coastline someday.

I have a Bachelor's in Health & Human Performance with a Minor in Human & Family Sciences as well as a Master's in Instructional Leadership, both from Northeastern State University. I also worked for the university for 5 years!

I really miss this team of ladies!
My favorite time of year is February.. Princess Half Marathon Weekend! February 2019 will be my third consecutive time participating in Princess Weekend. It will also be my second time completing the Fairytale Challenge (10k+1/2 marathon) as a charity runner with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Princess Minnie was my favorite pre-race photo op this year!

My favorite movie is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and my favorite candy is banana Laffy Taffy!

But, something is different this time. I don't want to write just for the sake of writing. I want my writing to mean something. Don't we all? Don't we all crave a feeling of purpose? A feeling of "Hey, what I do matters!"?  I don't think there's anything wrong with that. In fact, I think that's an intentional part of our design. We are created to not just occupy a space, to not just entertain ourselves to pass the time. So, why do we so often do just that? We want our lives to be worth something, but we often realize it at inconvenient times (too tired, too busy, not in the mood, etc.) and shrug it off with "Eh, I'l...
